If you take a promenade in the nature park and camping of Vlintenholt you will discover on a green oasis, a gorgeous theater, exactly a mirror-marquee. Most lovely, old-fashioned, stylishly interior with classy acoustics and the most beautiful host for a concert-soirée with Chi Coltrane.
When lady Chi entered the stage hot applause was welcoming her and she started full of power and emotion by ‘Feelin’ Good’. Very proverbial, as she and the audience were in this mood immediately. She was to substantiate what most versatile piano player she is on her impressive, black Yamaha grand-piano. She loved to communicate with her fans and very meaningful was her introduction to ‘Leaving It All Behind’ - “Never throw your life away, just throw away the things that get you down”. She was very rockin’ by ‘Soul Stalker’ and sometimes even headbangin’ by emotion. Drummer Aurelien and bass-player Lisa added some forceful rhythms. Her mood was changing from song to song and she was very melancholic and musing by ‘Yesterday, Today And Forever’. Her solos by ‘The Wheel Of Life’ were rather classical. ‘Don’t Forget The Queen’ - what a glorious celebration by this kind of opera-musical hymn. Her voice was electrifying the utmost.
Gooseflesh atmosphere and highlight by grand-style. In the second set Miss Coltrane was in the passion for more speedy songs, specially by ‘I'm Gonna Make You Love Me’. The people really loved her for it and were moving their belly and singing along. Lisa and Aurelien had their tops by their solos, which were fervid. The marquee was a bedlam by Chi’s hits “Thunder And Lightning” and ‘Go Like Elijah’. Some hottest boogie-woogie and honky-tonk style solos by hitting the keys like wild and her voice was explosive. By her last encore ‘Road To Tomorrow’ she concluded the calm, recreative style and left her cheering fans in meditation. Chi Coltrane sent her fans on the peaceful ride home by utmost pleasance. She is and will be always their queen of the hearts .
Many thanks to Ab en Monique Kragtwijk for the accreditation to this beautiful event!
